Ethics: Active Listening As A Tool ($60; 3 CE Hours, including 2 hours Standard V). Unless otherwise specified, classes will be held at the Human Relations Center, 970C Mill Pond Rd N, Valparaiso, IN 46385

Recommended for anyone who wants to learn more effective listening skills in his/her life; specifically geared toward teaching professional bodyworkers skills to use in their work

Studies have long shown that most malpractice suits could have been avoided if the client had felt better listened to and “heard”. Aside from that, ethical pitfalls (such as making claims outside your scope of expertise, feeling trapped into taking care of someone in an inappropriate way, etc.) can be avoided by skillful listening.

During this class you will: *Learn about boundaries in the context of bodywork *Discuss HOW effective listening is useful *Learn about and practice skills for different levels of listening *Observe demonstrations of listening skills *Practice applying effective listening skills in potentially problematic situations.

You will enjoy and be challenged by this class, but NOT be bored. Skills you learn can be used in all facets of your life.

There are currently no Active Listening classes scheduled through 2009.

If you’d like to create your own time and date (6 or more students)–maybe even in your own location–call Cheryl at 219-395-9045 or email: cheryatsu@aol.com for scheduling and financial details.
