Ethics: Time and Money Management ($60; 3 CE Hours, 2 hours Standard V). Unless otherwise specified, classes will be held at The Human Relations Center, 970C Mill Pond Rd N., Valparaiso, In 46385

Time management. . . .all those questions about money (your fees, tips, charging for missed appointments). All massage therapists must determine how and why to make their own policies, then figure out how to effectively and consistently actually maintain those policies on a day-to-day basis. This often sounds much easier than it is; and even if we’re pretty darned good at it, a problem arises from time to time. This class is an opportunity to discuss and explore just how time and money management is related to ethics, as well as some practical guidelines to help keep things running smoothly and ethically for both therapist and clients.
Participants will: *Experience a guided imagery meditation re “management”; *Describe and discuss boundaries, power differential, transference and countertransference; *List specific money and time management issues and discuss HOW they affect ethical safety for the client as well as practitioner; *Formulate guidelines to prevent unnecessary and/or destructive management patterns in their practice. Lots of personal discussion time!
