Bamboossage taught by Brenda Mowry, 16 CEHours, $320. Monday & Tuesday 9am-6pm
Bamboossage feels like an escape to the warm tropical breezes of the islands. Using a set of warmed bamboo and rattan tools the body is massaged into a state of bliss using Swedish or deep tissue techniques. Includes manual and demonstrational DVD. Bamboo set available in class for $90.
Head, Neck and Face Shiatsu Techniques with Focus on the Tsubos taught by Cheryl Kaper, 8 CEHours, $160, Monday 9am-6pm
Skilled head, neck and face shiatsu techniques are amazing for gently releasing tension and alleviating discomfort. Learn locations and uses for specific acu-points; lots of hands-on table technique. Detailed handouts.
Let’s Do Feet: Shiatsu Techniques with Focus on the Tsubos taught by Cheryl Kaper, 8 CEHours, $160, Tuesday 9am-6pm
Shiatsu foot technique adds the element of helping clients feel more solid and grounded. It’s also a great time to give your body a bit of a break! You’ll learn stretches for feet and have great hands-on practice on a table.
Ethics: Pitfalls of Dual Relationships taught by Cheryl Kaper, 4 CEHours, $80, Wednesday 9am-1pm OR 2-6pm
Dual relationships are almost impossible to avoid, and can cause ethical problems, along with stress for the therapist. This course focuses on exploring the pitfalls of dual relationships and learning guidelines for avoiding ethical difficulties. A fast-moving, thought-provoking, interactional class.
Intro to Fijian taught by Brenda Mowry, 4 CEHours, $80, Wednesday 9am-1pm or 2-6pm
Fijian barefoot massage is performed with one foot that kneads all the muscles. It uses no lotion and the client remains fully dressed while lying on a mat. The therapist is seated during the routine. Detailed handouts.
9am-5pm classes all include a 1-hour lunch break.
