Bamboossage taught by Brenda Mowry, 16 CEHours, $320. Monday & Tuesday 9am-6pm
Bamboossage feels like an escape to the warm tropical breezes of the islands. Using a set of warmed bamboo and rattan tools the body is massaged into a state of bliss using Swedish or deep tissue techniques. Includes manual and demonstrational DVD. Ethics: Pitfalls of Dual Relationships taught by Cheryl Kaper, 4 CEHours, $80, Monday 9am-1pm OR 2-6pm
Dual relationships are almost impossible to avoid, and can cause ethical problems, along with stress for the therapist. Fijian barefoot massage is performed with one foot that kneads all the muscles. It uses no lotion and the client remains fully dressed while lying on a mat.
