Experiencing loss can be devastating. The impact can be acute, or chronic. The effects can last for a long time–often showing up when we least expect it. Your time in “Good Grief” is designed to ease your inner process of grieving losses of any type. This can include the death of a loved one, death of an animal companion, loss of a relationship through any means, loss of a job or specific meaning in life, declining health–anything that you’ve had to give up in any way, even if you chose for it to happen. Cheryl provides appropriate creative arts activities and sharing time in a gentle, accepting, encouraging atmosphere. She is an experienced mental health counselor with training in bereavement facilitation. Pre-group screening is recommended to ensure that this is an appropriate group for you at this point in your grieving process.

During your “Cozy Comfort” time you’ll spend time respecting and letting go of appropriate parts of your external past while honoring and keeping the important, cherished internal memories. You’ll enjoy and benefit from relaxation exercises designed to help you find a balance between “bucking up and looking good” and feeling like an emotional “wreck”. You’ll learn about using symbols (such as colors), which will guide you to choose squares of fleece, which you’ll tie together to make a cuddly throw (approximately 30″x60″) that will literally wrap you in your memories. All materials included. Only “expertise” necessary is to be able to tie a knot.

There are currently no more grief workshops scheduled for 2009.
