Hara for Bodyworkers ($100; 6 CE Hours; category: Bodywork-Asian Studies). Unless otherwise specified, classes will be held at The Human Relations Center, 970C Mill Pond Rd N., Valparaiso, In 46385
“Hara” (ie the abdominal area) is as much a concept as a physical place. It’s physically located in the soft area bounded at the top by the bottom of the sternum, at the bottom by the pubis, and on either side by the medial edges of the ribcage and anterior iliac spine. Hara is our center, the origin of our power. In it are contained areas that correspond to each of the 12 energetic meridians. Spending time holding areas of hara can affect the energetic flow in the entire body. In this class you’ll learn how to: *locate, describe and discuss the concept and physical location of hara; *ethically, respectfully touch hara; *locate specific areas of hara connected with each of the 12 meridians; *list/discuss methods of and reasons for holding above areas to facilitate energetic balance among the meridians; *practice above methods with techniques demonstrated by the instructor. Adaptable to most any bodywork practice.
