Great for an interesting, thought-provoking intro to Eastern Medicine and how it differs from traditional Western thought! Also great if you’re considering entering any training program with an Eastern perspective. If you’re planning to take a certification exam with an Eastern theory component, you’ll learn lots here! This course offers a basic overview of terms, concepts and relationships regarding the Five-Element (Phases) of Eastern Medicine from a shiatsu-(rather than acupuncture-)based theoretical perspective. During this class you’ll: *Experience a guided imagery meditation designed to help you open to new concepts; *Define basic Eastern Medicine terms; *Discuss the concept of energy from an Eastern perspective; *List and discuss each of the 5 Elements and their meridians; *Identify somatic and emotional correspondences for each Elements; *Identify and discuss basic relationships among the 5 Elements.
