For anyone — no experience necessary; AND offered at a level useful for professional bodyworkers; technique adaptable to both table and floor work. Great for anyone engaging in any type of caregiving activity (eg nurses, Hospice or hospital or eldercare volunteers, etc.). Perfect for estheticians wanting to expand their technique and expertise.
In this special workshop on human hands, you’ll share a journey toward opening awareness of “hands” as a concept — both our own and those of others… how we experience hands in our lives — both from the inside and from the outside.
With this enhanced focus, participants will experience and/or learn:
- Warm-up Stretches for the hands
- Meditation
- Hand techniques, with paired practice
- Question/answer time for clarification

Our Hands II: Focus on the Tsubos ($60; 3 CE Hours)

Prerequisite: Hands I.
Useful for lay persons wishing to learn good hand techniques to practice on themselves and their friends; AND an appropriate level for professional bodyworkers. You’ll learn information and practice techniques that will add breadth and depth to your client sessions.
Building on “Our Hands I”, this class adds the element of specific tsubos in the hands.
In this workshop you’ll learn:
- An appropriate/useful meditation
- Warm-up stretches designed to open the meridians in the hands
- A bit of Chinese medicine theory
- Locations of the meridians and tsubos in the hands and wrists
- Hand technique geared toward tonifying or sedating tsubos for specific reasons
Detailed handouts re locations and uses for specific tsubos in the hands will be provided.
